Dear Members of the Liberia Chamber of Commerce,

The Elections Committee has received many requests for postponement to allow a more robust participation in the elections. As it stands, if we call elections tomorrow, the participation rate may be under 20% of our membership. As you will all agree, we need a stronger mandate for our leadership.

Furthermore, we have not received final confirmation from the new Minister of Commerce and Industry as to whether she will be available tomorrow to serve as the Honorary Chief Elections Officer. Based on these concerns, and the progress being made by the Elections Committee to increase the level of participation of members in the elections, it has been decided, with the concurrence of the Acting President of the LCC that the elections will now be held on Thursday, November 26, 2020.

Your patience and understanding is highly appreciated. We also appeal to each member to assist in encouraging other members to participate in the upcoming elections. Please contact the Secretariat if you have any questions. In the meanwhile, we will continue to accept membership payments and nominations until further notice.

LCC Elections Committee Chairman,

Mr. Monie R. Captan
